Description

The Traditionnelle collection is the supreme expression of the most demanding Geneva Haute Horlogerie traditions inherited from the 18th century. Imbued with history and a sense of rigorous discipline, Traditionnelle timepieces showcase technical refinement conveyed through eminently horological characteristics. From the simplest to the most complicated, these models pay tribute to craftsmanship and know-how passed on from generation to generation.

Patented in 1801, the tourbillon was developed to combat the harmful effects of earth’s gravity on the escapements of pocket watches held in a vertical position. While the arrival of wristwatches makes the tourbillon's role less clear, its creation requires greater expertise. Whatever the position of the watch, it is vital to achieve absolute precision in the rotating escapement.

Inspired by the Maison’s iconic logo, the tourbillon houses exceptionally finished components. Take the rocking bar, for example, which is filed into a conical, semi-cylindrical shape completely by hand to meet the Vacheron Constantin standard.
